Stainless Steel (Metal) Hoses

Stainless steel hoses are ideal for extreme temperature applications, while maintaining flexibility due to their corrugated surface. These hoses are widely used across industries, but it's essential to carefully consider their specifications, as the hose's overall strength is determined by its weakest component. Additionally, selecting the correct connection fittings is crucial to ensure optimal performance during operation.

Corrugated stainless steel hoses are lightweight and compatible with a wide range of applications. The steel used in their construction is resistant to aggressive and highly toxic chemicals, making them suitable for demanding environments. However, one limitation is that these hoses are less effective when exposed to friction, which can reduce their lifespan.

Hose Construction and Outer Covering
Stainless steel hoses are manufactured for enhanced flexibility and durability. These hoses can be equipped with either one or two external protective layers. The inner bellows are made from 316L stainless steel, and the outer protective layer is crafted from 304L stainless steel. These sheaths are produced through hydroforming or mechanical processes.

The dual-layer protection enhances the hoses' reliability by allowing them to withstand higher working pressures. The extra layer also prevents axial extension under pressure and shields the hose from mechanical damage. Various cover and protection materials are available, including silicone-coated fiberglass jackets, nylon with or without Velcro, stainless steel spirals, PVC spirals, and bending restrictors, specifically designed for asphalt, concrete, bitumen, and other hot applications.
